This traditional stone cottage is in the heart of an olive grove up in the hills with an amazing view of the sea (which is only 500 meters away) and the mountains.
Tranquillity, and the traditions and hospitality of Crete add to the wild scenery and sandy beaches with crystal clear waters.
The cottage is to the south east of the island, and only 5 minutes from the old village of Makry Gialos, with its restaurants, shops, car hire, medical centre etc.

Beautiful 15th century monastery, perched on a cliff overlooking the Libyan Sea on the edge of the spectacular Perivolakas Gorge.

At the bend of the alleys of a traditional mountain village, come and meet the inhabitants and taste delicious dishes of local cuisine. Traditional songs and dances will punctuate this evening and why not allow you to practice a few dance steps.
Butterfly Gorge 18km
The Butterfly Gorge starts high on the road to Orino and ends at Koutsouras National Park in the Lasithi region of Crete, near the village of Makriyialos. The walk actually takes you through a valley with abandoned Cretan villages and is called Butterfly Gorge due to the large number of butterflies there.

The southeast region of Crete is an area of outstanding beauty which has not been over developed. So it offers the visitor tranquillity and the possibility of discovering the real Crete.
You will receive a warm welcome and will be able to taste local products and freshly caught fish. This area also possesses some of the finest sandy beaches in Crete, with crystal clear water.
There is also a wide choice of bars and restaurants overlooking the sea. The village is ideally situated for exploring natural, historical and cultural sites to the east of Crete, such as the island of Spinalonga, the monastery of Toplou and Kansas, ancient and modern ruins, deserted creeks and traditional mountain villages as well as the palm forest of Vaï.
